Dear Aunt Wanda, pray you're having a blessed day!
I just saw your Resurrection Cookies, and I had to drop you a line. A few years ago, I got that recipe from Ruth Collins. I was visiting my sister, and we decided to try it out on our children. My sister had 4, ages 4-11ish or so, and I had 4. We did it that evening, going into great detail with our actions (like with beating the nuts -- having the children beat as hard as they could, explaining how Jesus was beat like that). The boys (they were not quite teenagers) were totally ashen. It really shook them up.
This recipe brought the resurrection REAL to them for the first time in their lives! My sister's girl, who was probably 7, was so affected by the "experiment", that when my sister tucked her in bed that evening, Joc was crying and wanted to give her heart to Jesus. This recipe changed that girl's life, and because of going thru the effort of doing it, she gave her life to Jesus! Isn't that wonderful? She was baptized shortly after.
I also did this in Sunday School last Easter, and the children really appreciated it. I actually had it on my heart to send it to you when I saw you had it already. Perhaps some mother will feel led to try it, and another child can be led to Christ.
Much love as always, Simone
