Standing For What You Believe In 


Standing for what you believe in,

Regardless of the odds against you,

And the pressure that tears at your resistance,

...that's courage


Keeping a smile on your face,

When inside you feel like dying,

For the sake of supporting others,

...that's strength


Stopping at nothing,

And doing what's in your heart,

When you know it's right,

...that's determination


Doing more than is expected,

To make another's life a little more bearable,

Without uttering a single complaint,

...that's compassion


Helping a friend in need,

No matter the time or effort,

To the best of your ability,

...that's loyalty


Giving more than you have,

And expecting nothing...

But nothing in return,

...that's selflessness


Holding your head high,

And being the best you know you can be

When life seems to fall apart at your feet,

Facing each difficulty with the assurance

That time will bring you better tomorrow's,

And never giving up,

...that's confidence.

There's a lighthouse on the hillside that overlooks life's sea. When I'm tossed it sends out a light that I might see. And the light that shines in darkness now will safely lead me home, If it wasn't for the lighthouse, my ship would sail no more. And I thank God for The Lighthouse, I owe my life to Him. Jesus is The Lighthouse and from the rocks of sin, He has shown the light around me, so that I might clearly see. If it wasn't for The Lighthouse, Where would this ship be?
