HOW TO SEND EMAIL USING BCC (Blind Carbon Copy)

When you send an email to just a few people or large group, you should be careful to hide the email addresses from everyone on the list. If you don't use the Bcc, it gives the bad spammers an opportunity to grab a large list of email address.

Hide the email address by sending as a Blind Carbon Copy (BCC). Instead of seeing a field with numerous addresses, the recipient sees only the "Undisclosed Recipient" . All of the address is hidden and not available to each other on the list.

Using Outlook Express
  • Open a new message
  • Click View and be sure that All Headers is checked.
  • Now the BCC field will be displayed.

  • Place all the email addys in the Bcc field and separate each with a comma.

Sending with YAHOO
  • Just above the TO: field...click on Add Bcc. Place all email addys in the Bcc field and separate each with a comma.

For AOL Put the email addresses of BCC recipients in the TO: or CC: field and enclose the addresses in parentheses.

Note: You need to hit enter after each addy to begin a new line, and then enclose all with the parentheses.
